Model Trimmer
Model trimmers are devices that use a highly abrasive diamond disc rotating at speeds up to 3000 RPM to trim models used in dentistry, otherwise known as dental casts. Model trimmers have varying horsepower ranging from 1/4 to 3/4 HP but most operate at 1/2 HP. Types of model trimmers include:
- Wet trimmers, which use water to cool down the rotating disc and clean the produced debris.
- Dry trimmers, which have no water but use vacuums to remove debris and require dust filtration systems.
- Combination trimmers, which use both water and vacuums.
Major manufacturers of model trimmers include Buffalo, Handler, and Ray Foster.
